Hi! I'm a final year astrophysics graduate student studying galaxy dynamics and evolution.
My thesis work (advised by Eve Ostriker, Scott Tremaine, and Chris Hamilton) is focused on building theoretical models for orbital transport processes (radial migration and radial/vertical heating) in galactic disks, especially those driven by interactions between stars and the interstellar medium (ISM). Starting in Fall 2026, I will begin a joint position as a Flatiron Research Fellow at the Center for Computational Astrophysics in New York City, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics in Toronto.
Here's a link to my CV (last updated on 09/30/2025); you can also find my most recent work on ADS, arXiv, Google Scholar, or ORCID. Feel free to click on the buttons below for more information, or contact me at shaunakmodak(at)princeton(dot)edu if you'd like to chat!
